5 Unsigned Bands That I'm Loving

I'm no good at reviews, and I despise having to do them.  I only do reviews for the websites I write for; you know, starting from the bottom of the litter and what not.   But I have been sent many artists to review for my blog, and instead of reviewing their material thoroughly, I'm going to introduce you to who I'm loving right now.  Short and sweet: just how everyone likes it.

Factions

Katrin the Thrill - An alternative rock band from Greece, with the lead singer Katrin showing similarities to PJ Harvey and Alison Mosshart's style.  Great rock music, and I am loving their latest album Evil Eye Charm which will be released in the coming months.  They take on the likes of Harvey and Courtney love and create a beautiful mash of grunge with a dash of current electronica like the Smashing Pumpkins.  Take a look at their site, it's so freaking cool!

The Call Back Academy - A pop punk band from England, who have released their debut album Smarter Than Your Average Bear.  The band perfectly fit into the scene of today, where pop punk and alternative are huge elements in today's music.

Factions - I'm really loving this band.  The indie/alternative rock five-piece with Lucy Jane on vocals really do mirror PJ Harvey, but through a rebirth period.  Big hopes for the Irish natives.  Their EP Looms is available here now.

In Cages - Mix Foo Fighters, Puddle of Mudd and Nickelback and you've got In Cages.  Great classic rock/garage rock band who are quite on the edge.  They could be big because they sound good, or they could flop because they sound like they copy the greats.  It's hard to determine their future, but the sure as hell do sound great!

Half Shot - I already reviewed these guys on Music Review Unsigned, but I can't get enough of them!  The Irish-born four-piece sound just like Queens of the Stone Age: but do hold their own.  They sound absolutely out of this world, and have a chance to keep rock alive!
