After the release of hugely successful Oceania, Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins talks with Howard Stern for a 90 minute session in the promotion of his latest release.Stern dives into Billy's past, discussing his rough childhood with experiencing child abuse, then into the success of the Smashing Pumpkins in the '90s, to the destruction of every band line-up. Corgan is the only original Pumpkins band member, raising conflict on why he still utilises his name.
Corgan's love life also comes into context, with him discussing his turbulent love life he has had over the years, and politley refuses to talk about his recent break up with The Veronica's singer, Jessica Origliasso. Corgan discusses his feud with Courtney Love, and describes her as "the least loyal person I've ever known in my life."
Corgan performs 'Tonight, Tonight' to Stern's request, but says he will be no longer playing older material, as he is trying to move forward, and this what he was trying to achieve with Oceania.
